HP has announced a new Smartphone series, the iPAQ 500 Voice Messenger. Touted as the first in HP’s new smartphone lineup, it is a quad- band GSM/EDGE candybar form factor phone that will run Windows Mobile 6 Standard. It also features 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, supporting voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and push-email capabilities. It also comes with 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM, a 200MHz TI OMAP850 processor and a 220 x 176 display.
The HP iPAQ 500 series Voice Messenger should be available in the United States by the spring. Other countries will follow as well. Pricing will be announced closer to the release.
I hope that future devices in this new lineup are a little more inspiring!
