Sharp has unveiled the EM ONE for the E-Mobile Internet service provider in Japan. It will launch in late March when E-Mobile inaugurates their HSDPA Internet service.
In terms of specifications, it will be powered by a Marvell 520MHz XScale processor, an NVIDIA GoForce 5500 GPU and Windows Mobile 5 for Pocket PC. It will feature a 4.1-inch WVGA (800×480) touch screen, 128MB RAM and 512MB ROM, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 1.2, a 1.3MP camera, video-out, and a miniSD slot.
The EM ONE features a very interesting dual-sliding keyboard. Slide it sideways and you get the control pad only. Slide it down and you get a full QWERTY keyboard as well as the control pad.
The one thing that the EM ONE lacks is phone support. I guess you could fall back on Skype if you had to.
The EM ONE will sell for ¥95,000 (about $800 USD) without a service contract or ¥39,800 ($330 USD) with a 2-year plan.
