The::unwired is reporting that Dopod has announced the expected release of the Dopod C730 Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphone. Also known as the HTC Cavalier, this device is an update to the HTC Cavalier (sold as the T-Mobile Dash, HTC S620/621). The processor has been upgraded to 400MHz and adds 3.5G HSDPA capabilities.
The Dopod C730 also comes with 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support and UMTS (2100/850/1900), a QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth 2.0, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, a 2MP camera and a microSD slot. Like the HTC Excalibur, it will sport a 2.4-inch screen and the JOGGR touch sensitive navigation bar (although moved to the side). You will also have the option of installing the BlackBerry Connect v4.0 software to access BlackBerry services. This additional software will be available via download in late June.
The C730 will initially be available in Singapore in early June for about $600 USD (or about $900 in Singapore).
