Earlier this week at WWDC 2007, Steve Jobs announced that third party developers will be able to develop applications for the iPhone. Many had feared that the iPhone would be a closed system and while in many ways it still is, the ability to develop applications using the Safari browser does open the door if only a little bit. A couple of early releases are already available, including Digg for the iPhone.
As the name implies, Digg for the iPhone is an iPhone interface to the Digg web site. It lets you scroll through the list of posts and flick them to drill down. The scrolling will even bounce when it reaches the end of a list. It is built using the Yahoo! UI Library, PHP and the Digg API.
