As expected, Apple unveiled its new all-in-one iMac lineup with 2 new 20-inch and one new 24-inch widescreen models. As widely reported, the the new iMac integrates the entire computer system into a sleek, professional aluminum enclosure for a striking, clutter-free desktop. An elegant glass cover joins precisely to the aluminum enclosure creating a virtually seamless front surface. They also come with 1GB of memory, an 8x SuperDrive, a new thin Apple keyboard, built-in iSight video camera and iLife ’08.
The first 20-inch model comes with a 2GHz processor, a 250GB SATA hard drive and a 128MB ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT video card for US$1199 (CAD$1299). The second 20-inch model and 24-inch model come with 2.4GHz processors, 320GB SATA hard drives and 256MB ATI Radeon HT 2600 Pro graphics cards for US$1499 (CAD$1599) and US$1799 (CAD$1899) respectively.
The Apple Store also features a second 24-inch model with a 2.8GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 500GB hard drive and and a 256MB ATI Radeon HT 2600 Pro graphics card for US$2299 (CAD$2449)
iLife got updated to version ’08 with new versions of iPhoto, iMovie, iWeb, iDVD and GarageBand.
Apple also quietly upgraded its Mac mini lineup. The first model features a 1.83GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of memory, and an 80GB hard drive for US$599 (CAD$649). A second model comes with a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of memory and a 120GB hard drive for US$799 (CAD$849). Both include iLife ’08.
