It’s been far too long since we had an iPhone story on Gadgetorama!
Market research firm iSuppli is reporting that the Apple iPhone outsold all other smartphones in the United States in July. In so doing, it accounted for almost 2 percent of the US mobile handset market.
iSuppli also reported that most buyers were male, under 35 and had a college degree. About a quarter of buyers also switched to AT&T in the process of purchasing their iPhone.
iSuppli predicts that Apple will sell 4.5 million iPhones this year. Apple’s own goals are to sell one million iPhones by the end of September and capture a one percent marketshare in 2008.
