After reports emerged that negotiations between Apple and Orange were not going well, it appeared that there was a real risk that the Apple iPhone would not appear in France before Christmas (unless you bought an unlocked model). But today, Apple and Orange announced that Orange will be the exclusive French carrier partner for the iPhone. “We are excited to partner with Orange and bring iPhone to France in time for the holidays,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPhone is an amazing product and we hope mobile users in France will love it as much as we do.”
The French iPhone will be available starting November 29th. The 8GB model will sell for €399 including V.A.T. for any subscription to one of the dedicated rate plans.
As with other iPhones, the French version will support the new iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store and will require activation through iTunes.
