The third shoe has dropped. After the announcements that the iPhone was about to land in the UK and in Germany, Orange, the wireless carrier for France Telecom (FTE) announced today that it will carry the Apple iPhone in France. Didier Lombard, France Telecom CEO, announced the news while in Hanoi for a conference.
The French iPhone will go on sale in November but the specific date was not disclosed. While pricing information was not revealed, the announcement suggests that it will be in the vicinity of €400. Like other carriers, Orange also indicated that it would not subsidize the iPhone.
With Apple Expo taking place next week, perhaps we will see a formal announcement from Apple.
