Apple sure is busy today!
Steve Jobs announced today that Apple is reducing the price of DRM-free music from US$1.29 to US$0.99 to align iTunes pricing with that of competitors such as Amazon.com and Wal-Mart. According to the article, the new pricing is to go into effect later today or tomorrow. When I visited iTunes, I found that the new pricing was already showing up on some DRM-free music.
While most of the DRM-free music is from EMI, Apple has also started to add new content from independent recording companies (also at the new price).
