The FCC site is listing a wireless DAP called the Model 1089. It comes with a 30GB hard drive, an FM tuner and a quickly becoming familiar interface. Sounds like the Zune, right? But rather than being manufacturerd by Microsoft, it comes from Toshiba. Is this confirmation that Toshiba is manufacturing the Zune for Microsoft? The device will feature a 3-inch screen, a 1.8-inch hard drive and a USB 2.0 connection.
The user manual refers to Pyxis, a network application that would let user share content with up to four other devices over 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi. Users will also be able to send each other photos, promotional copies of songs, album and playlists. The name Argo (Microsoft’s codename for the Zune), also shows up in the documentation.
Everything seems to match. Looks like we have a winner!
