Web Information Solutions have released an update to WebIS Toolbox, their collection of useful utilities to improve your 2003/SE/WM5.0 Pocket PC experience. WebIS Toolbox allows you to customize the way information is presented and helps manage the debris that ActiveSync and other sync tools accidentally create. With version 3.1 come changes like improved landscape and square screen support, improved one-handed operation, a new registry backup and restore utility, VCF vCard import and bug fixes.
One really interesting feature of Toolbox is the Correct Time feature. Unlike Microsoft’s Pocket Outlook which sets appointments in relation to Greenwich Mean Time, this lets you set an appointment at a set time. For example, if you set an appointment in one time zone and travel to another, when you change your timezone on your device, all appointments will be adjusted according to the new timezone settings. If you had set the appointment in “local time”, Pocket Outlook would now show it at the wrong time. Not so with Correct Time. It’s not for everyone but it can be useful!
WebIS Toolbox 3.1 is available for $12.95 USD from our affiliate PocketGear. A trial version is also available.
