After the months of rumours, Sony Computer Entertainment finally revealed PlayStation 3 pricing and availability information at the E3 trade show. The PlayStation 3 will be available in 2 configurations: One with a 60GB hard drive for $599 USD and one with a 40GB hard drive for $499 USD.
The PlayStation 3 will hit stores in the United States on November 17. The console will debut about a week earlier in Japan. Sony expects to ship 4 million PS3s by the end of 2006.
Sony also unveiled its redesigned controller. Reminiscent of the PS2 controller, it comes with a technology that will mimic the player’s hands in six directions and will be wireless.
