Skype for Pocket PC 1.20 never left beta but now Skype for Pocket PC 2.0 beta is here. It is availalble in 2 flavours: Skype for Pocket PC 2.0.0.39 and Skype for Pocket PC 2.0.0.41 for Pocket PC devices with a 312MHz CPU. Among the changes are the following:
- Skype for PPC graphics updated to 2.0 style
- Contact list sorting
- Incoming chat and call privacy options
- Cannot cancel login when in ‘connecting’ mode
- Fix for Skype staying in connecting mode
- Fix for ‘Call’ and ‘Chat’ buttons being enabled when user is not logged in
- Fix for login page being shown before EULA
- And more.
One prominent feature that did not make it on is the video calling functionality that you can find on the PC version of Skype.
If your processor runs at less than 300MHz and you use an external Wi-Fi card, neither of these versions will work for you.
