An agreement between Nokia and Google will result in the addition of Google Talk, Google’s VoIP service, to the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet successor. Sources also indicate that the new device will also come with software and hardware updates and will run Nokia Internet Tablet 2005 (or an update to it).
Unlike cell phones, the Nokia 770 uses local wireless connections for connectivity. Nokia had promised VoIP capabilities with the 770. Hopefully, the update will be backwards compatible.
We could get additional information as early as this upcoming Tuesday. Pricing is expected to remain the same.
