Engadget has gotten some additional details on the just announced rx4000’s big brother. The HP iPAQ rx5000 Travel Companion series will come with a 3.5-inch QVGA screen (Is VGA dead on PDAs?), a 9-way direction pad, 2 Windows Mobile buttons and a SiRF Star III GPS receiver. More specifically, the rx5915 will be powered by a 400MHz Samsung processor and will pack 2GB of flash memory, 64MB RAM, Bluetooth 2.0, an SDIO slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
If Engadget is right, there will be other models sporting different amounts of flash memory. If the same applies to the rx4000 series, then we could see a model with as little as 128MB ROM and others with 1GB or more.
The iPAQ rx5915’s price could be in the $600 USD range. As for whether it will make its way out of Asia (as the rx4000), the jury is still out.
