Thanks to a Cingular list (that probably got out a little too soon) showing devices for which you can get mail-in rebates, we now know that both the HP iPAQ hw6900 and Cingular 3125 will be announced shortly. The iPAQ hw6900 has been expected for a long time (details first appeared here in December 2005). An evolution of the hw6500 family, it will come with a 416HMz Intel processor, GPRS / EDGE, 802.11b WiFi, Bluetooth 1.2, GPS, 1.3MP camera, 64MB RAM and 45MB of Flash user storage, a 3-inch screen, miniSD and USB 1.1. It will also come with Windows Mobile 5.0, Phone Edition with the Messaging and Security Feature Pack.
The Cingular 3125 is also known as the HTC Star Trek. Featuring a clamshell design, it is powered by a 200 MHz Texas Instruments OMAP 850 processor and Windows Mobile 5.0 (with MSFP). It comes with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE capabilities, 64MB ROM and 64MB RAM, a 2.2-inch QVGA internal display and 1.2-inch 128 x128 external display, Bluetooth 1.2, USB 1.1, a 1.3MP camera and a microSD slot. Unfortunately, you can’t get everything (yet) in a thin and light package: Wi-Fi capabilities are not included.
