Mobility Today got the scoop when i-mate confirmed the JAQ to them one day before its formal announcement at CTIA Wireless IT 2006. Powered by a TI OMAP850 200Mhz processor and Windows Mobile 5.0, it features 64MB ROM and 128MB ROM, a QWERTY keyboard, a 2.8-inch QVGA screen (in landscape orientation), a miniSD slot, an integrated antenna and Bluetooth 1.2.
As predicted, the JAQ is indeed the Inventec Mercury.
i-mate also announced the SPL, a thin candybar tri-band phone.
We should get more information at the official CTIA launch.
