In Canada, some Best Buy locations has been carrying Hewlett-Packard TVs since they were released here in 2005. But in the US, the story is a bit different. HP has only now signed its first national retail deal. To date, HP sold its televisions through its web site or through regional stores. All that will change at the end of April when Best Buy will start to offer five HP LCD and plasma TVs, including a 37-inch model that comes with built-in Wi-Fi (announced at CES 2006).
Later this year, Best Buy will also sell HP’s MediaSmart TV at select locations. The HP MediaSmart TV will allow custoemrs to connect to a computer to access music, movies and other multimedia content.
