HP has unveiled a new line of iPAQs, the iPAQ rx4000 Mobile Media Companion series, at an event in China. The rx4000 is designed with the consumer in mind rather than the business user. This standalone PDA is powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC is a palm-sized design with a 2.8-inch QVGA anti-glare touch screen (with default landscape mode), 128MB of internal memory, an SDIO slot, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0. It also comes with a scroll wheel to allow one-handed operation.
The iPAQ rx4000 series will be available in October in the Asia Pacific region and will retail for $299 USD. Whether it launches in other parts of the world has not been revealed yet.
