Starting with the United States Grand Prix on July 2 at Indianapolis, F1 fans attending the race will be able to receive access to information such as live in-car camera and audio channels, race telemetry and timing data using Kangaroo.TV handheld devices.
The Kangaroo.TV handheld device comes with support for MPEG4 video and AAC3/MPEG audio and up to 10 live video feeds and audio feeds. It also comes with a transflective color LCD screen, an SD memory card slot, a USB port and rechargeable batteries capable of up to 6 hours of continuous usage.
Formula One Management and Kangaroo Media Inc signed a six-year license agreement. The deployment will begin on a limited basis but is expected to be expanded at future races.
