If you purchased a Video iPod after September 12, you may have received an extra little gift from Apple, namely the Windows RavMonE.exe virus. Less than 1% of Video iPods are affected. Apple has now corrected the problem at the manufacturing site and new iPods are shipping virus-free.
This issue does not affect iPod nanos, 5G iPods and iPod shuffle models are not affected. If you’re running Mac OS X, you will not be affected either.
Apple provides instructions to detect and remove the virus if you suspect that you could be affected.
