The U3 platform allows applications to be installed and executed directly from specially formatted USB flash drives. When an application is run, it can write file or registry information on the host computer but this information must then be erased when the drive is ejected. So, you can load up your U3 USB key with any U3-compliant software and simply take it with you anywhere.
Ilium Software’s eWallet application, used to securely store information such as passwords, PINS and more using 256-bit key encryption, has received U3 certification. Like the Pocket PC version, it supports features like Smart Copy which lets you enter ifnormation without having to enter it by keyboard (foiling keyboard sniffing), nested categories to organize information, multiple wallet support and more.
The U3 version of eWallet is available for $19.95 USD from the U3 site. A version for the Pocket PC version is available for $19.95 USD from our affiliate PocketGear. Trial versions are also available.
