At the beginning of the year, Dell discontinued its lineup of hard drive-based MP3 players. Now, Dell has officially stopped selling the DJ Ditty flash player introduced less than a year ago. Dell never made much of a mark with any of its DAPs and as it struggles with a 4.1 million battery recall and significant drop in profits, underperforming products will presumably not be given much slack. Dell would not confirm whether or not the move was in response to Apple’s overwhelming dominance in this market.
Dell will continue to sell DAPs from Creative, Cowon and others.
