Cingular Wireless has launched the first US Windows Mobile 5.0 smartphone, the Cingular 2125. Built by HTC (as the HTC Faraday), the Cingular 2125 is powered by a TI OMAP 850 200MHz processor, has 64MB RAM and 64MB Flash ROM, quad-band GSM and GPRS/EDGE support, a 2.2-inch QVGA display, Bluetooth and a 1.3MP camera.
The Cingular 2125 will also be upgradeable with the Microsoft Messaging and Security Feature Pack which is expected to be launched by Cingular sometime in the first half of 2006.
Prices for the Cingular 2125 start at $299 USD with 2 year service contracts and qualified voice plans.
