As soon as Apple announced Intel-powered Macs, many wondered whether they would be able to run Windows XP on them. Soon after, a contest set out to offer a prize to the first person who demonstrated that it could be done. Part of the contest rules stated that the Intel Mac needed to support both Mac OS X and Windows XP with the user being given a choice at boot up. The two OS also could not interfere with the operation of the other.
The contest is now closed and appears to have a winner. Details, including a downloadable bootloader, have not been published yet but are expected soon.
For his troubles, the winner will walk away with just over $13,000 USD.
