Think Secret is reporting that Apple could announce an iPhone as early as the January 2007 Macworld Expo. With Microsoft announcing its intent to develop a Zune phone device, Apple which has faced some technological challenges may scale back its original plans in an effort to unveil its device as quickly as possible.
Having said that, Apple is still planning to pack some interesting features in its phone: a 2.2-inch display, complete integration with iTunes and a 3MP camera. The iPhone (if that is indeed to be its name) will not have the 100 song limit see on Motorola’s iTunes phones. Instead, capacity will be dictated by storage capacity. We can also expect the phone to come with a click wheel and a slide-out numeric keypad.
Equally interesting is that Apple might be looking at not one phone but two or three different models.
