Apple announced a new MacBook Pro at the 2006 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). Aside from its 1680-by-1050 pixel 17-inch screen, it comes with a 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo processor with 1GB DDR2 RAM (with a maximum of 2GB), an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics card with 256MB of GDDR3 SDRAM, an iSight camera, a choice of 100GB 7200RPM or 120GB 5400RPM hard drives, Front Row and Apple Remote, 3 USB ports and a MagSafe power adapter. It weighs just over 3 kilograms, about 6.8 pounds, (in part thanks to its aluminum enclosure) and is about an inch thick.
The 17-inch MacBook Pro is available on the Apple Store and prices start at $2799 USD ($3,299.00 CAD).
