ACCESS announced its next mobile operating system back in February. Expected by the end of the year, the release has quietly slipped though as revealed by Brighthand. According to ACCESS, we are currently using the code name ACCESS Linux Platform for our next generation operating system. We will announce the official name of the ACCESS Linux Platform when we announce that it is available to our licensees and developers—expected sometime in the first half of 2007. This information can be found in a FAQ posted on its web site about the Garnet license that Palm obtained earlier this month.
It would be interesting to know which device manufacturers (if any) have or plan to license ALP.
