Brighthand has been given some information as to what could be in store for the Dell Axim lineup. In a nutshell, the X30 will be discontinued shortly while the X50 lineup will live on for another year (with a possible Windows Mobile 2005 upgrade).
According to Brighthand’s source, Dell will then introduce a new Axim model in the fall. It will have a multimedia focus and will include a built-in hard drive. This will be followed up in mid-2006 with Dell’s first cellular-wireless handheld. Aimed at business users, it will replace the X50 line.
Details of the new models and families are very sketchy but we will stay tuned to see if these rumours come to life.
