Telus is launching its Wireless High Speed Network in 5 Canadian cities (Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal). Customers can expect typical download speeds between 400 to 700 kilobits per second and as high as 2 mebabytes per second.
In conjunction with this launch, Telus is offering its customers the UTStarcom Pocket PC 6700 smartphone, running Windows Mobile 5.0. It features a full sliding QWERTY keyboard (which opens from the side and automatically changes screen orientation from portrait to landscape viewing mode), a 1.3MP digital camera, WiFi and Bluetooth.
If you sign up for a three-year contract, the UTStarcom Pocket PC 6700 can be purchased for $399.99 CAD. Without a contract, it will cost $549.99 CAD.
