Sony is at least temporarily stopping production of CDs protected by the controversial DRM scheme that uses a rootkit. This moves follows news that hackers have already developed trojans that exploit this rootkit to infect computers. The company statement goes on to say that it re-examine its content protection initiative but that it will continue to protect its property. We stand by content protection technology as an important tool to protect our intellectual property rights and those of our artists.’ What about protecting the property of the customers who buy your products?
