It might not have been the numbers that Sony was hoping for but they still managed to sell 500,000 PSPs in 2 days. These sale numbers translate to more than $150 million in revenue in a week for Sony.
The expected sell-outs did not occur everywhere and PSPs were still available at many retailers, especially in “big box” stores. I’ve seen PSPs in FutureShops and Best Buys around town (which makes it hard not to get one).
Sony still expects to sell 5 million PSPs in North America alone by the end of the year.
