Microsoft has introduced a service that will make daily TV programming available to mobile devices (running Windows Media Player 10 Mobile) as well as Portable Media Center devices. More than 20 partners, including CinemaNow Inc., MLB.com, MSNBC.com, MSN Music and MTV Networks will make content available online in a Windows Mobile-based format.
Two subscriptions are available: Basic (free) and Premium ($19.95 USD per year). The former offers limited feeds whereas the latter gives you the ability to pick an choose from the entire MSN Video collection, including exclusive content that you can’t download anywhere else, delivered automatically to your Windows XP-based PC for download to a Windows Mobile device.
The news release indicates that the service is only available in the US.
Update: Jason Dunn over at PocketPC Thoughts took the service for a spin. His first impressions are not encouraging!
