Think Secret has learned that the Apple Mac mini could evolve into your living room’s digital hub. A new project, code-named Kaleidoscope, will modify the mini by moving it to an Intel processor and adding Front Row 2.0, DVR functionality and a built-in iPod dock.
Another possibility is a move from 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch hard drives, boosting storage capacity while reducing costs. If this happens, the mac mini would likely gain a little bulk.
Think Secret also reports that the new Mac mini could be unveiled at Macworld Expo in San Francisco in January 2006.
