Back in January, Airscanner posted a warning in which it found that the Dell X50 stores the WEP keys for the Windows Mobile Odyssey client as plain text in the registry. Funk Software emailed us tonight to indicate that Odyssey encrypts all sensitive information that it stores in the registry. The registry keys cited in the Airscanner warning are apparently not even from the area of the registry that Odyssey uses. They suspect instead that the WEP keys cited are stored by the NIC driver.
We checked the Airscanner.com site to see if there had been any update to the warning but did not find any. We emailed Funk Software back to see if they had been in touch with Airscanner.com directly. We have not heard back yet but will keep everyone posted on further developments.
