AppleInsider is reporting that Apple could release the first Macs powered by Intel processors as early as January. The transition from Power PC processors was expected to have started in mid-2006 but the first announcements could come as early as January’s MacWorld Expo. The iMac and PowerBook models, Apple’s top sellers, are expected to be the products announced.
The new designs will be thinner, quieter and cooler but will not introduce any new features (aside from the processors).
I’ve been thinking of getting an Apple for a while and it looks like the time to do so is getting closer and closer.
